RECENT WORKS 2017:
A show of artwork created by artists 18 years or older that live or work in Lake County, IL. Work must have been created within the past two years.
Application deadline: Tuesday September 26th, 11:59 pm on the website callforentry.org Accepted works due: Monday October 9th and Tuesday October 10th
All artists age 18 or older who reside or work in Lake County are eligible to enter. (Non-Lake County residents must indicate workplace on the Entry form.) Artists may submit up to three entries. Submitted entries must have been completed within the last two years. No changes or substitutions allowed. Work previously shown in the Robert T. Wright Gallery of Art is not eligible for this show.

Accepted Works Due: Monday October 9th 2-5 pm and Tuesday October 10th 9 am-6 pm
Opening Reception: Friday October 13th 6-8 pm
Exhibited Work Picked Up: Monday November 13th 10am to 6 pm
2D and 3D work is accepted in any medium except for video and animation. All work must be original, never shown in this gallery, and completed within the last two years. Reproductions or copies of original work will not be accepted. Works limited to 72” in any direction. Paintings may be in any medium. All work must be dry and hang wire should be attached to the back. Works on canvas with a finished and presentable edge need not be framed. Works on paper must be framed, under glass or plexi glass (preferred) and have hang wire attached to the back of the frame. Please use black, metal, white or non-ornate wood frames only. Sculpture and ceramics may be free-standing or supportable on a base, for entries over 100 lbs. phone 847-543-2040 to make arrangements with the gallery. Multiple pieces as a set (diptychs, triptychs, etc.) are accepted.
Awards will be selected by the juror scoring the entries. Purchase awards will also be bestowed by gallery staff. Awards will be announced at the opening on Friday Oct. 13th.
Every reasonable precaution will be taken to safeguard entries from damage. Accepted works will be insured. For insurance purposes, all work must be marked with a value. $3,000 is the maximum insurance coverage.
Please price your work for sale; work not for sale should be marked NFS. A commission of 35% will be retained by the Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of Art on all work sold, including Purchase Awards.
Entry Fee: 1- 3 pieces/$20. A $5 dollar coupon code can be used by gallery members only, enter the word “recent” in the code box to receive the discount. Artist Membership must be current through the end of the show. Gallery fees can be paid for through the CAFÉ website while submitting a show entry. Mailed jury and membership fees must be received by the Wright Gallery of Art by Tuesday September 26th. (Allow at least 3 business days for mailed entries to arrive by the deadline.) The jury fee is nonrefundable. Jurors’ decisions are final. You may hand deliver your entry fee and membership fee to Melanie Kessler in the Communication Arts office, room B213 Make checks payable to the College of Lake County.
DELIVERY AND PICK-UP OF ARTWORK:
Deliver accepted work to the art gallery located in the first floor of the Library on Monday October 9th from 2-5 pm and Tuesday October 10th from 9 am to 6 pm. Exhibited work must remain in place for the duration of the show. Pick-up for exhibited work is Monday, November 13th from 10 am to 6 pm in the gallery. If you cannot collect your work on this date, please make arrangements with the gallery staff. The gallery will be released of all responsibilities for art not claimed by the specified dates. If Submission of the entry form will constitute an agreement to all conditions in this prospectus.
Accepted entries should have an identification label fixed to the back of the artwork prior to dropping the piece off for the show. A label should be attached securely to the back of the accepted artwork if 2- D, or to the bottom of a 3-D piece. Please include name, address, phone number, email address, title of the artwork, medium, and sale price. Work labeled not for sale should still have a value written for insurance purposes.
An opening reception, open to the public, will be held on Friday evening, October 13th in the Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of Art, College of Lake County, Grayslake, IL. Live music and refreshments will be featured during the opening. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 8 am to 9pm, Fridays 8 am to 4:30 pm, and Saturdays 9 am to 3 pm.

Artists will be notified by email from about their acceptance to the show on Saturday September 30th. Artists can also log on to CAFÉ to see their acceptance status by that date as well.
