MNWCA 2017 Juried Exhibition

We are requesting works made within the last two years by members and non-members of Minnesota Women Ceramic Artists (MNWCA) to be considered for Fresh Work. Open to women ceramic artists living and working in MN, ND, SD, IA and WI. Primary medium must be clay. Wall, floor, and pedestal work accepted. Up to 5 images. Juror: Mary Roettger. Fee: $15 for members; $20 for non-members. Deadline: Friday, June 30.

Mary Roettger received her M.F.A. from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 1991 and her B.F.A. in studio arts from the University of Minnesota in 1982. Her work has been featured in national and international exhibitions and she has worked as an artist-in-residence at the John Michael Kohler Arts/Industry Program in WI, Archie Bray Foundation in MT and the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in CO. Since 1986, Roettger has held various positions as a Ceramics and 3D Design Instructor at universities and colleges in Minneapolis, MN; Seoul, Korea; New York City, NY; and Boston, MA. Roettger has completed residencies at The Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, MT, Anderson Ranch in Aspen, CO. and The John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Currently she is living and working in St. Paul, MN. The underlying theme for her recent sculptures and spiral forms is an investigation on variations of pattern, scale, convolutions and their axes.

  • 1-5 images. Details and alternative views accepted. JPG files only, minimum of 1920 pixels on the longest side and 5.0 MB maximum.

  • Image info for each image submitted. Include title, dimensions, medium/process, year of completion, and optional note about piece.

  • 1-2 page resume. PDF or doc files.

  • 1 page artist statement. PDF or doc files.

The Arts Center of Saint Peter provides insurance for work and retains a 30% commission on works sold.

Minnesota Women Ceramic Artists is a professional organization that supports women ceramic artists in Minnesota. MNWCA provides its members opportunities for exhibiting, networking and mentoring throughout their ceramic careers. MNWCA also furthers the creative and professional development of its members. Founded July 16, 1979 as the Arts and Heritage Council, the Arts Center of Saint Peter was established by and for the community to share the great treasures of music, art, theater, literature, poetry and dance. The purpose of today’s Arts Center of Saint Peter remains to promote education, interest in and support for the fine arts through exhibitions, performances, education and outreach. Many founding members, including Joel and Carol Moline, remain active as volunteers and advisors to the Arts Center’s Board of Directors, staff, and teaching artists.
