Juror of Selection

 Soon Y. Warren AWS, NWS

Soon Y. Warren is a full time artist, teacher and workshop instructor nationally and internationally. She has an Associate degree in commercial art. Soon Y. had numerous exhibitions and earned numerous awards. Soon Y. is a signature member of National Watercolor Society (NWS), American Watercolor Society (AWS), Southern Watercolor Artist (SW), Texas Watercolor Society, Purple Sage Brush (TWS), Transparent Watercolor Society (TWSA), Rocky Mountain Water-Media (RMNW), and Society of Watercolor Artist (SWA).

Her paintings and articles published in Artist’s Magazine, Watercolor Magic Magazine, North Light Book, Southwest Art Magazine, Watercolor Artist Magazine, International Artist Magazine, The Art of Watercolour, and Pratique des Arts. Also, her paintings were included in Splash: The Best of Watercolor 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and will be in 18, and published in Strokes of Genius: The Best of Drawing of 3 and 4. She published in two watercolor instructional books; "Vibrant Flowers in Watercolor" with F&W Publication, (North Light Book); “Painting Vibrant Watercolor: Discover the Magic of Light, Color and Contrast (North Light Book); Participated in the book, “Watercolor Secret,” with one chapter, “Create Drama with Bold Composition.” She also created 7 DVDs; Top Vibrant Watercolor Techniques; Vibrant Watercolor Techniques Painting Glass; Vibrant Watercolor Techniques Painting Water; Painting Silver; Painting Flowers; Color Effects; Marbles and Reflections.

Her paintings are in permanent collections of private, corporate and educational institution in national and internationally

Awards

The juror will select awards from the actual paintings. Awards total over $5,000 in both cash and merchandise.

Sales

PPWS will charge 30% commission on sales. Paintings must be priced for sale.  Changes in price are not permitted following acceptance.

Catalog

PPWS will provide accepted entrants a full color catalog displaying all paintings juried into the Exhibition. Additional catalogs will be available $15 each.

Eligibility

The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older. Paintings must be predominately watermedia on paper, clay-board, Yupo, illustration board, silk and canvas. Paintings must be the original and sole work of the artist. No work done in a class or workshop setting. Source material, including photographs must be the artist’s own. Collage material must be painted by the artist. No computer generated art or prints are allowed. Work must not be more than 3 years old, and not previously shown in a PPWS Watermedia Exhibition. Any work misrepresented by the images submitted may be rejected. PPWS and juror reserve the right to remove or decline any art deemed unacceptable. Accepted entries may not be removed or substituted before the close of the exhibition.

Images

Maximum frame size is 1430 square inches.
Maximum image size is 1280 square inches
Minimum image size is 80 square inches.
Framed artwork must be single matted in white or off-white. Simple frames only.
All entries will be juried for acceptance from digital images.
All images are to be submitted in jpg format, 72ppi/dpi, and be no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side.
Maximum image file size is 5MB. Digital images should be properly oriented! Show images only, no frame or mat.
Name each file as follows: Last name, First name, Painting Title.jpg.  (e.g.,WoodGrant,AmericanGothic.jpg)

Entry Fees

Entry fees are nonrefundable. U.S. $40 for up to three entries for non members. U.S. $30 for up to three entries..
A $25 Handling Fee is also required for all shipped art.

Presentation

All works must be professionally presented, ready for hanging with wire and hardware in place. No saw tooth hangers. All works that need protection should use only Plexiglass (NO GLASS).

Use of Accepted Works

Your entry grants PPWS and Cottonwood Center for the Arts permission to photograph all accepted work for file, promotional, or catalog purposes.

Shipping, Delivery

Accepted artwork must be shipped to arrive the week of May 22-25 and must include a check or money order for $25 for handling fee. Make check payable to PPWS.

Shipped artwork must be sent prepaid in substantial reusable container. For return shipping, a prepaid shipping label must be enclosed. (Fed Ex, UPS, or DHL only) No loose packing material (peanuts or shred) is allowed. We recommend Masterpak art shipping boxes www.masterpak-usa.com. If a prepaid label is not present artist will be disqualified.

Liability

Although the utmost care will be taken in handling artwork, neither PPWS, PPWS representatives, or Cottonwood Center for the Arts will be responsible for damage or loss whatever the cause. Artists are encouraged to carry their own insurance.
