In an effort to further support the vibrant North Texas art community and help foster the professional growth of undergraduate and graduate-level art students, the Tower Gallery at the Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is proud to host “Emerging Excellence”: a Juried Student Art Show.

“Emerging Excellence” is an annual juried art show open to undergraduate and graduate art students in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. Work will be on display in the Tower Gallery at the Grapevine Visitor Information Center from 12/3/16 - 1/15/17. Prizes of $500 for 1st, $300 for 2nd, and $200 for 3rd place will be awarded based on the juried results.

This year we are issuing an open (no theme) call for any medium of two-dimensional art, which will be judged individually based on the quality of the composition and technique, overall impression of the art, and the effect of the artwork in general. There is no fee to participate.

Participants will submit up to ten works of art through the CAfE website, which will then be considered by Grapevine Museum and Gallery staff for entry into the show. Once accepted, applicants will need to deliver artwork to 636 S. Main St. Grapevine, TX 76051 by 11/30/16. All accepted artwork will then be judged by our jurors for prizes of $500 for 1st Place, $300 for 2nd place, and $200 for 3rd. Accepted pieces will be on display in the Tower Gallery from 12/3/16 until 1/14/17.  All artwork must be picked up by the artists by after 11/16/17.

Only 2D mediums will be accepted. Selected works of art must come ready to hang and prepared for installation. With each online submission, please include: Artist Name, Title, Medium, and Dimensions. If part of a series, please indicate. Participants may offer their works for sale, in which case each artist much submit a W-9 and list a price for each piece. The completed W-9 must be submitted to a Grapevine CVB employee when the artwork is dropped off on location. Additionally, a loan agreement must be filled out when we (Grapevine CVB) receive the artwork. All accepted work must remain at The Convention and Visitors Bureau for the duration of the exhibition. The Grapevine CVB reserves the right to reject any work not meeting eligibility requirements or deemed. No Nudes.
