BEST IN SHOW
A Juror's Award ribbon and certificate will be presented to three works that express the most imaginative interpretation of the theme. One work will be designated “Best in Show” and will be used as the cover of the exhibition catalog. Exhibition catalogs will be available online print-on-demand.
The Studio Door is currently negotiating sponsorship. Cash prizes and other awards may be announced at a later date.
GALLERY & ON-LINE GALLERY
There are two opportunities to get into this show. The juror will select works that will be exhibited at The Studio Door gallery in San Diego. Additionally, the juror will select works that will be shown in the on-line gallery only. This allows for more works to be seen beyond the limitations of the main gallery. You have the option to declare “in gallery”, “on-line gallery” or both during the application process. All accepted works regardless of “in gallery” or “online gallery” are eligible for Best in Show.
All artwork selected, both gallery and online, will be included in the national exhibition virtual catalog.
USE OF IMAGERY
If your artwork is selected for either the gallery or online exhibition, Artists grant The Studio Door permission to photograph selected artwork. The Studio Door reserves the right to use art images for marketing and publicity without compensation.
Note: TAVERN is conceived as a national show (USA) due to the costs of shipping and potential customs issues. Due to the interest from our international community, it has been decided to open up the show. As seen above, we have two opportunities: in gallery and virtual online exhibitions spaces. We assume that most, if not all, international artists will prefer to participate exclusively online and that's okay. It comes down to whether or not it the show gives value to you and your body of work.
