In|site:Ex|site/Pinedale is a comprehensive public arts program placing temporary and permanent works of art throughout the community of Pinedale, Wyoming. The works are sited in both interior and exterior public spaces. This program aims to enhance our community through dialog, education, and visibility of contemporary visual art as it applies to our west central Wyoming community of Pinedale. Ex|Site:365 - Project overview: Ex|Site:365 is a temporary rotating sculpture project which consists of contracting artists for existing outdoor friendly sculpture for one year. Preference will be given to regional artists in consideration of cost to transport sculpture. The selection process is by invitation, through a portfolio review via CAFÉ.ORG. Invited artists will receive a $1,000 honorarium to help with transportation costs. Installation will be in May of each year. A public reception, along with a complimentary hotel room for one night will be included for the chosen artist/s. Although not required, the committee prefers that work is available for sale. The VAC will chose up to two (2) sculptures for the 2013-14-exhibition year. The Town: Pinedale is a small community located in west central Wyoming, at an elevation of 7,175 ft. It is the trailhead for the Bridger/Teton National Forest and Wilderness area, encompassing the Wind River and Wyoming Ranges. These wilderness areas are host to Gannett and Fremont peaks, the 1st and 3rd highest peaks, and Fremont Lake, the 3rd largest natural freshwater lake in Wyoming. The area offers a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing, and boating. Many species of wildlife are commonplace, and it is common to see deer and moose within Pinedale year round.
