Museo de las Americas Liberadores / Liberators Project brings together artists, historians, activists and diplomats to honor and celebrate the legacy of liberation as part of Denver's inaugural Biennial of the Americas, In Good We Trust. The Liberadores / Liberators Project will showcase artists interpretations of the liberation narrative as it impacts their lives, countries and communities from throughout the Americas, North and South. Junio – Septiembre 2010 En America el hilo que nos connecta es el legado de liberacion.Hombres y mujeres visionarios que osaron cambiar los paradigmas del Viejo Mundo en busca de un Nuevo Mundo. El proyecto Liberadores del Museo de las Americas desea reunir artistas, historiadores, activistas y diplomaticos a honrar y celebrar este legado de liberación como parte de la Bienal Inaugural de las Americas en Denver. El proyecto Liberadores expondrá interpretaciones de artistas con la narrativa de liberación y de como ha influenciado sus vidas, paises, y comunidades de Norte a Sur. We honor the unifying but often neglected role of Liberadores / Liberators of the Americas by summoning the courage to confront today’s challenges and envision a just, equitable and sustainable future. Con esta exhibicion el Museo quiere conmemorar la participacion unitaria, que en muchas ocasiones es ignorada , de los liberadoes de las Americas. Queremos convocar el valor que ellos inspiran para poder confrontar los retos del futuro y poder envisionar un futuro equitativo y sustentable. Theme The struggle for liberation is a continuing theme that unites the Americas. From the founding fathers of the United States and El Grito de Dolores in Mexico to the legacy of Simon Bolivar throughout South America, liberation is our birthright and Liberadores / Liberators our heroes. As we enter the second decade of the new millennium, growing anxieties about the future raise questions about the very survival of our planet and our species. The Liberators / Liberators theme is a call for action and hope for our times and our continent. Tematica La lucha por la libertad es un tema constante que une a toda America. Desde los fundadores en Los Estados Unidos , El Grito de Dolores en México, hasta el legado de Simón Bolivar en Sudamerica, la Liberación es nuestro patrimonio y los Liberadores nuestros heroes. Al inicio de la segunda década del nuevo milenio, la preocupacion en el futuro ha aumentado . Nos preguntamos constantemente sobre la supervivencia de nuestro planeta y las especies. El tema de los Liberadores es una llamada de acción y esperanza para el presente y para este continente Eligibility Artists from all disciplines throughout North and South America are eligible to present visual art, project proposals or performance concepts that relate to the Liberators / Liberators theme. Eligibilidad Artistas de todas las disciplinas de todo el Continente Americano son elegibles. Todas las Propuestas , proyectos o conceptos de performance deben de relacionarse con el tema de Liberadores. Selected artists from Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Argentina will be eligible to receive an honorarium and project expenses through support from Denver Office of Cultural Affairs and Museo de las Americas. Artistas de los siguientes paises ;México, Colombia, Chile y Argentina recibiran prioridad en la seleccion debido aque estaran celebrando el bicentenario de liberacion. Estos candidatos recibiran honorarios y sus gastos seran pagados para desaroyar el projecto atravez de la Oficina de Cultural Affairs en Denver y Museo de las Americas. Museo will work with all other selected artists to facilitate presentation of their work in Denver. El Museo seleccionara artistas de otros paises y les facilitara el mismo apoyo tpara que puedan presentar su trabajo en Denver. Artists who wish to submit video media with their application must submit a completed CaFE application including the five (5) still images required and then send the supporting media files on a DVD or CD to the Museo de las Americas at 861 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, CO 80204 |
