The International Polymer Clay Association has partnered with The American Craft Retailers Expo to launch ACREs of Opportunity. The objectives of IPCA are two-fold. First, to increase the exposure of high quality craftwork created from polymer clay at the wholesale level, and in turn increase the sale of polymer clay work through shops and galleries across the country. Secondly, the guild hopes to provide a venue for the selected polymer artists to move their business to a higher level.

The artists chosen to exhibit at ACRE in the IPCA booth space will be selected by jury. The jurors are intimately familiar with the wholesale market, as either an artist, rep, or gallery manager. They will evaluate the submitted images on the basis of Craftsmanship, Originality, and Marketability. The greatest emphasis will be on the first two criteria. In addition to the scoring by the jurors, 5% of the final score will be based on the artist’s prior wholesale experience. It is not necessary to have prior wholesale experience in order to apply to the show. The IPCA reserves the right to have a balance of work represented at the show. If the top three scoring artists are all jewelers, we reserve the right to select the next highest scoring artist, producing work other than jewelry, to exhibit in the show.

The selected artists work must be made predominately of polymer clay. The work must be original, and produced in the United States or Canada. Artists must be members of the International Polymer Clay Association in order to apply. Artists must not have previously exhibited at a major wholesale show.

IPCA will provide a 10 ft. by 15 ft. booth space which will be shared by the three selected artists. Pipe and drape, carpeting, and 500 Watts of electricity are included. The selected artists will be responsible for their travel and lodging expenses, shipping, providing suitable displays for their work, and coordinating their displays with the other artists. Marketing materials, such as catalogs, order forms, etc. will be the responsibility of the artists to provide. Mentoring assistance will be available.
