REQUIREMENTS: Images - Minimum: 2 , Maximum: 12 Entry Fee (El Paso Museum of Art: Frontera Biennial Arte Concurso 2010/2010 Border Biennial Art Competition): $1.00 (per image over minimum): $ Description The El Paso Museum of Art and the Museo de Arte Juarez announce the Border Art Biennial 2010, the first juried exhibition to examine and highlight the often under-represented, but vital art and artists from the states on the US/Mexico border: Arizona, Baja California, California, Chihuahua, Coahuila, New Mexico, Nuevo León, Sonora, Tamaulipas, and Texas. To emphasize the notion of collaboration, each Museum will exhibit one of two artworks by every artist selected. All works included will be be reproduced in the accompanying exhibition catalog. Descripción El Museo de Arte de El Paso y el Museo de Arte de Ciudad Juárez convocan a artistas residentes en los estados fronterizos entre Estados Unidos y México (California, Arizona, Nuevo México, Texas, Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León y Tamaulipas) a participar en la Border Art Biennial/Bienal Fronteriza de Arte 2010, exposición binacional que mostrará trabajos seleccionados por un jurado. De cada artista se escogerán dos obras para exponerse una en cada Museo. MAXIMUM of three works can be submitted. * Entries must have been created within the last 2 years. * Dimensions: 1920 pixels horizontal by 1920 pixels vertical * File Format: Baseline JPEG (do not use progressive JPEG format) * Compression: Please size each image to be no more than 1.8 MB in file size. On average, each image will be roughly 1.2 MB. Larger is not necessarily better. Please discuss image preparation with a professional to determine if compression for images of artwork is needed. JPEG images cannot be saved as progressive JPEG files. Progressive JPEG files will appear on the CAFÉ Web site, but will not display properly during the jury process. * Images should be cropped to show artwork ONLY (no visible frames, or surroundings.) * 2D WORKS SHOULD ONLY HAVE 1 IMAGE. * 2D artworks may not be larger than 8’x 8’. * All artwork must be ready for hanging. * 3D works must include an image of the front, back & both side views. * EXAMPLE: AS STATED ABOVE, 3D works require 4 images (front, back and both sides). AN ARTIST WHO IS PROPOSING 3 -3D WORKS WOULD SUBMIT 12 IMAGES. IF 2- 2D WORKS AND 1- 3D WORK, THEN 6 IMAGES. * 3D works may not exceed a maximum weight of 150 pounds. * 3D works may not be larger than 10’x14’X14’, and are responsibility of the artist to install. * For time based media, fill out CaFE application and include still images, then mail full version(s) to EPMA. * Entries must be original in concept, design, composition and execution. Artwork cannot have been created under the supervision of an instructor. * Artwork must not be copied, in part or in whole, from any published or copyrighten work. * Once submitted, artworks may not be altered in any way * Artists with artwork accepted will receive delivery/shipping information. Shipping, delivery and return of the artwork is the responsibility of the artist. * All artwork must be picked up from the museum on Feb 16- March 5, 2011. * While the artist reserves all rights to the reproduction of the works, the artist consent to the reproduction of the works submitted, for education or PR purposes at the discretion of the exhibition committee. * The Jurors will be solely responsible for the content of the exhibition and the jury decision will be final. Multiple entries of any artist may be accepted at the discretion of the Jurors. Un MAXIMO de 3 obras puede ser incluidos. * Las obras inscritas deben haber sido realizadas durante los 2 últimos años. * Dimensiones: 1920 pixeles de eje horizontal y 1920 pixeles de eje vertical * Formato de archivo: Baseline JPEG (no utilice formato JPEG progresivo) * Requisitos de compresión: El tamaño del archivo de cada imagen no puede exceder 1.8 MB. Como promedio, cada imagen será aproximadamente de 1.2 MB. No siempre una imagen de mayor tamaño será una imagen mejor. Consulte con un profesional sobre la preparación de la imagen para determinar si es necesario comprimir las imágenes de las obras. Las imágenes JPEG no se pueden guardar como archivos de formato JPEG progresivo. Los archivos de formato JPEG progresivo serán incluidos en la página de internet CAFÉ (www.callforentry.org), pero no se podrán ver adecuadamente durante el proceso de selección del jurado. * Se tienen que recortar las imágenes para que se vea la obra SOLAMENTE (sin ningún borde ni área alrededor visible). * Todas las obras tienen que estar listas para ser colgadas. * Para obras bidimensionales solo es necesaria una imagen. * Las obras bidemensionales no pueden medir más de 8’ x 8’. * Para obras tridimensional, incluya imagenes de la obra por delante, por detrás y ambas vistas laterales. * Para obras tridimensional no pueden exceder un peso máximo de 150 libras. * Para obras tridimensional no pueden medir más de 10’x14’X14’, y el artista es el único responsable de instalarla. * Para obras audiovisuales, rellene una solicitud de CaFE e incluya imágenes fijas y luego envíe la(s) grabación(es) de video completa(s) a EPMA. * Todas las obras propuestas tienen que ser originales en cuanto a su concepto, diseño, composición y ejecución. El artista será el único responsable del envío, entrega y devolución de las obras. * La obra se deberá recoger en el museo que corresponda entre el 16 de febrero y el 5 de marzo, 2011. * Aunque el artista se reserva todos los derechos de reproducción de las obras, el artista autoriza la reproducción de las obras presentadas con fines educativos o de relaciones públicas, según lo decida el comité de la exposición. *Los miembros del jurado serán los únicos responsables del contenido de la exposición y su fallo será inapelable. A discreción de los miembros del jurado, se aceptará más de una inscripción (de un par de obras) del mismo artista. |
