The Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design Galleries at Georgia State University seeks works in all media* for our first juried alumni art exhibition, 100 at 100. The exhibit coincides with the year-long Centennial Celebration of Georgia State University. The juried exhibit is open to all alumni of the Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design and will run August 15 through September 27, 2013. 100 works selected by our juror, Dr. Jerry Cullum, will be installed in both galleries in celebration of the breadth and accomplishment of the Welch School alumni.

About the juror:
Dr. Jerry Cullum is a poet, visual artist, curator and essayist who holds advanced degrees in the liberal arts from Emory University and the University of California at Santa Barbara, and a BA in literature from Florida Presbyterian College.
His paintings and conceptual installations have been presented in numerous group exhibitions. His poems have been published in four books and on four audio CDs, as well as in magazines ranging from the nationally recognized Poetry to regionally specific publications in several American states. He has collaborated previously on multimedia pieces presented in venues from Florida to Kentucky.
He has curated or co-curated art exhibitions for venues ranging from the Telfair Museum in Savannah, Georgia to the Amerika Häuser in Germany and other institutions in Europe, and has served as visiting critic in cities ranging from Shreveport, Louisiana to Newcastle upon Tyne, England.
His essays on art and culture have appeared in scholarly and popular journals including Art in America, ARTnews, boundary 2: a journal of postmodern studies, and GSD Review, the professional journal of the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Over the course of a quarter century, he has also written art reviews for the Atlanta Journal and Constitution and served in various editorial positions at Art Papers magazine. He currently maintains two weblogs of cultural and creative theory, and writes regularly for the art reviewing websites burnaway.org and artsatl.com.
Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the exhibit. Works need to arrive ready to hang/install and must be representative of the images submitted. The gallery reserves the right to reject any work that does not adhere to such requirements. All work will be insured for its full value while on site. The gallery will provide publicity and a reception on September 5th during the downtown Atlanta First Thursdays ArtsWalk. A catalog of works will be available for purchase through Blurb.
A $35 entry fee is required, allowing artists to submit up to 5 entries for consideration. Work should be completed within the past 3 years. A resume and artist statement are also requested of each artist.
Deadline for submissions via Call for Entry: April 1, 2013
Notification of accepted works by: May 3, 2013
Accepted works need to be delivered: August 1st – 5th, 2013
Exhibition Dates: August 15 – September 27, 2013
Reception: Thursday, September 5, 2013
